Throughout Quarter 3 this year, Businessolver and its employees are supporting dog rescue and two organizations making a difference in Des Moines and Denver – AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Freedom Service Dogs. Today’s Solver Story comes from Andrew Foley, Businessolver Client Relationship Specialist. Andrew shares his personal dog rescue story and encourages others to foster dogs as a way to help the community and furry friends.

“We started fostering dogs three years ago and have fostered a total of seven dogs. The first dog we ever fostered was saved from a puppy mill in Missouri and her name is Angel. AHeinz57 Pet Rescue purchased her from an auction in order to save her life. She was extremely matted and poorly taken care of. Angel was in bad shape and her health was quickly deteriorating so they were hesitant to perform surgery on her. Her teeth were so rotted that the vet had to pull 12 teeth and give her antibiotics to help with her infection. The vet said he would be shocked if she would survive the surgery.

She made it! We met her the day after her surgery and she was so scared that she was shaking. We brought her home and laid her down and dedicated a space for her so she could recover from surgery. For the first two days she did not move from that spot and she would not eat or drink.

It wasn’t until a week later she started to walk through our apartment. We were able to bring her outside and have her walk around in the grass for the first time in many years. In the end she would go on walks with us and run around and play with our other dog.

Angel was later adopted by an older couple that had another King Charles spaniel. They were a perfect match and Angel is still doing very well!”

Those who adopt, foster and rescue pets help provide better lives to our four-legged family members. Thank you!
