#HRwithHeart Making Wishes Come True

Make-A-Wish is an organization very dear to our hearts that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Last year we hosted several fundraisers internally in hopes of raising enough to sponsor a wish for someone within our own community. By engaging our employees in fun games, competitions, and fundraisers, we raised over $8,000 as a company, meeting our goal to grant a wish for a child within our own community.

In August we were happy to be able to spread delight in the form of a trip to Disney World to a Wish Kid and his family, complete with a party in our B&G, complete with tasty treats and a presentation that included pictures from the numerous fundraising events Businessolver held to make his wish come true. We were overjoyed to be able to make his wish come true. Our employees were equally overjoyed at being able to make such an impact on someone’s life. Erica Adams, our concierge, said “Being involved with the entire process and final send-off has been one of the most rewarding and inspiring things I’ve ever participated in.”

Our experience in partnering with Make-A-Wish was so inspiring that we knew we wanted to keep the magic happening. This year, we took our Wish mission on the road to the Human Resource Executive Health and Benefits Conference in Las Vegas. Instead of giving away wasteful tradeshow giveaways that would soon be forgotten, we wanted to share the joy in giving back to show what #HRwithHeart really meant to us.

We started with a blank mural and asked attendees to help in painting a mural that would reveal a mystery children’s charity. For each person that painted, we donated $5 on their behalf. If they shared their experience using #HRwithHeart, we doubled their donation to $10. The response from attendees was amazing. By the end of the conference we had a beautiful mural that revealed Make-A-Wish Iowa as our charity recipient, and very full hearts. Take a look at the time lapse video below to see the mural come to life!

We want to thank everyone who has helped us make a difference, and to thank Make-A-Wish for being such a great partner. It is a joy to be able to support a program that makes such a lasting impact for all involved.
