It was a simple concept. For every person who helped us paint our mural, we donated $5 on their behalf and if they shared the news on social networks using #HRwithHeart, we doubled their donation to $10. The response from attendees was incredible. By the end of the Human Resource Executive Health and Benefits Conference in Las Vegas, we had a beautiful mural that revealed the Make-A-Wish Foundation as our charity recipient. Take a look at the time lapse video below to see the mural come to life!
Instead of giving away wasteful tradeshow giveaways that would soon be forgotten, we wanted to share the joy in giving back to show what #HRwithHeart really meant to us. Make-A-Wish is an organization very dear to our hearts that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Last year we hosted several fundraisers internally in hopes of raising enough to sponsor a wish for a child within our own community. By engaging our employees in fun games, competitions, and fundraisers, we raised over $8,000 as a company, meeting our goal to grant that wish.
In August 2014, we were happy to be able to grant a Disney World trip to a Wish Kid and his family. We invited the family join us for a pre-trip party, complete with tasty treats and gifts to make the trip more enjoyable. Erica Adams, Businessolver concierge said, “Being involved with the entire process and final send-off has been one of the most rewarding and inspiring things I’ve ever participated in.”
Our experience in partnering with Make-A-Wish was so inspiring that we knew we wanted to keep the magic happening. We want to thank everyone who has helped us make a difference, and to thank Make-A-Wish for being such a great partner. It is a joy to be able to support a program that makes such a lasting impact for all involved.
