As we move into the most active benefits enrollment season of the year, it’s great learning what HR and benefits teams are saying about the systems that support them.

Recent research by Employee Benefit News and Employee Benefit Adviser shed light onto the wishes of benefits managers. Highlights of that research include:

1. They’re satisfied with benefits technology

69.5% said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their overall benefits systems — but those shortcomings in end-user experience remain a frustration. (We call this room for improvement.)

2. Integration needs improvement

20% of respondents said their benefits and HR systems are only “partly” integrated — and 22% said “not at all.” (Be sure you’re considering integrations with your next benefits technology evaluation.)

3. Make it more usable

46% said they prioritize electronic tools that will help employees enroll in, use and monitor their benefits (even ahead of controlling benefit costs [16%] or gaining better control of its benefits offerings [33%]!) (We got the message – make the employee education and recommendation process easier.)

4. HR is ready for something better

39% would like new benefits enrollment systems, 32.7% seek better benefits administration tools and 30.9% are planning to spend money on an improved employee benefits portal. (Let us know how we can help – we want to make your next annual enrollment your best.)
