Last week, several Solvers participated in the 50th annual RAGBRAI, a seven-day bike ride and traveling festival across Iowa.

Businessolver is headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. While we have Solvers across the U.S., many of us are based in the Hawkeye State. Our Solvers have supported RAGBRAI, or the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, both financially in prior years and on the ‘cycle.

Workplace wellbeing is a big focus for Businessolver—we were recently recognized as a Silver Winner for Aetna’s Workplace Well-Being award—and that commitment is consistent in and outside of the office (or, now that we’re remote, our desks).

“Having our company headquartered in Iowa allows so many of our employees to support this amazing ride,” said Tracey Orman, Businessolver’s Health and Wellness Administrator. “And Workspace Anywhere allows for more participation from non-Iowan Solvers and flexibility in the training process. We encourage all types of activities and time spent outside to enhance employees’ mental health, and we’re so proud of those who rode in RAGBRAI this year.”

RAGBRAI participants can tackle the full seven-day ride (and evening festivities) or ride a shorter portion of the route. No matter how many miles RAGBRAI riders get under their belt, the benefits and celebration are abundant.

The route averages about 468 miles and, contrary to many non-Iowans’ beliefs, isn’t totally flat. Riders start on the western side of the state and end on the east, both terminals on the Mississippi River. Eight Iowa cities “host” riders overnight.
